Independent Music Find of The Week: Peter Bradley Adams
Peter Bradley Adams
Leavetaking
Released: Aug 5, 2008
You like good music? Oh that’s good ’cause I’ve got a new artist for you to check out. Or maybe you’re a Nihilist and tied down to only death metal. I’m ok with that - but this isn’t the place for you.
In the words of The Dude:
Must be exhausting
So, back to Peter Bradley Adams. This is the type of album that it would be hard not to appreciate. Peter is formerly of eastmountainsouth fame, who I have never actually listened to but hear is respectable. I will have to get back to you on that one. I did at one point hear them on the Elizabethtown soundtrack … but I’m drawing a blank.
This record is folk-Americana-singer/songwriter goodness. The first track, “The Longer I Run“, is the front runner of the record and definitely worth the hard drive space for those digital down loaders out there. Track after track, the album has a serene tone and a likable melancholy quality – good enough to relax you but not make you fall asleep.
If I were to make a folk-duo-top-songs-list, “Ohio” would be a great addition. A lot of good folk music is coming out right now and Adams has definitely caught my attention.
Songs to get: “The Longer I Run“, “Los Angeles“, “Always“, “Ohio”
This album is $8.91 on iTunes. Go buy it.
