DEXTER SEASON 4 TRAILER

The publicist for Showtime sent over this vid. I guess they’ve been lead to believe that I’m important enough to email. Well it at least gives me something to brag about. They get their promotion, and I get my ego stroked. I guess it works out for both parties in the end.
Season 4 of the hit Showtime television show Dexter premieres on September 27 at 9pm ET/PT, and here’s a trailer to get you excited about some homicide. Dexter stars Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under) as a Miami forensics officer who moonlights as a serial killer, bringing “justice” to the streets of Miami by killing those whom he feels have escaped the law. Dexter can be found on TSF’s Top 5 TV Shows of 2008 (the 2009 list to be released later this year).

NEW (RAP) SONGS FOR YOUR iPOD
BEASTIE BOYS
“TOO MANY RAPPERS (FEAT. NAS)”
Welcome back MCA, Mike D, and Ad Rock. It’s been too long. The Beastie Boys officially have their ill licenses back and have returned with the first single from their first (non-instrumental) album since 2004. “Too Many Rappers” calls back to late-80s and early-90s Beastie hip-hop. A simple drum beat that feels like it was transplanted from 1994’s Ill Communication supplements the back-and-forth MCing that we have grown to love from the BBoys. Their new album is titled Hot Sauce Commitee P. 1 and hits stores September 15.

KID CUDI
“MAKE HER SAY (FEAT. KANYE WEST & COMMON”
Cleveland-born, Brooklyn-based rapper Kid Cudi’s debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, doesn’t drop until September, but the first two singles released make it one of the most anticipated albums of the year. Paired with Kanye West, Kid Cudi has released two solid hip-hop songs in the smash hit “Day ‘N Nite” and now “Make Her Say”, a track that features Kanye and Common with some “Pokerface” GaGa samples. Kanye thankfully drops the whole vocoder phase and actually raps, as Cudi further solidifies himself as a mainstay in modern rap.

NEW PEARL JAM SONG, “THE FIXER”

We’ll have to wait for Pearl Jam’s highly anticipated Backspacer to be released on September 20, but they’ve got a new single to curb our grunge appetite. At 2:56 in length, “The Fixer” is one of the shortest Pearl Jam songs I can remember. At first listen, it’s highly catchy - but at a cost. It doesn’t fit the classic Pearl Jam mold, and the song is a little too smooth around the edges, which may disappoint PJ purists. But they pulled it off and the song is highly listenable and great for radio. I hope every song on the record isn’t like this, but a few short and catchy tunes certainly won’t hurt.
Hear “The Fixer” below or listen to a slightly higher quality version on Pearl Jam’s MySpace.

TAYLOR SWIFT COVERS “UNTOUCHABLE”

We have new music from Taylor Swift … kinda. Taylor has covered the song “Untouchable” by Nashville-based rockers Luna Halo. Originally written and recorded as a rock song, Miss Swift has taken a mediocre song and made it her own - a.k.a. made it a helluva lot better. Armed with only an acoustic guitar, “Untouchable” goes singer/songwriter with a country edge and wouldn’t feel out of place on any T Swift record.
I would ask you which one is better, but it’s no contest.

FALLON SPOOFS PATTINSON, RADCLIFFE
Jimmy Fallon has his moments, even if those moments are rare. But making fun of Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen in Twilight) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter in Harry Potter) will never get old - at least for me. Pattinson is a slimy greaseball who plays a character that chicks are in love with because he’s the “perfect guy” (that doesn’t EXIST), and Radcliffe is more or less one of the most annoying people on earth. Fallon as Pattinson describes Radcliffe as “bothering”, which couldn’t be more dead-on.

Golf clap for Jimmy Fallon doing something funny on his show.
No commentsKAREN IS FOLLOWING ME ON TWITTER

Amanda Seyfried plays Karen in Mean Girls, and I have been basically begging her to follow me on Twitter - but she’s only following 15 people and they’re all famous. I’m not famous … BUT I do have a website dedicated to her movie and she’s in my logo. Good enough reason, yes?
Today, Friday, July 17, Amanda (@amandaseyfried) has decided to follow me on Twitter. I’m still waiting on Lindsay Lohan’s follow, and I am pretty sure Lacey Chabert and Rachel McAdams aren’t on Twitter. Which is unfortunate.
Follow me @thatssofetch.
