What if the parents of The O.C. and Gossip Girl were to cross paths earlier in life? Well that could become a reality on the show Lily, a Gossip Girl spin-off starring Brittany Snow (top, John Tucker Must Die) as a young Lily van der Woodsen in Los Angeles during the 1980s. The show will follow Serena’s mom in her early 20s while she lived with her sister under their maiden name, Rhodes.
Lily is from the same dude, Josh Schwartz, that brought us The O.C. and Gossip Girl, and will debut in the GG time slot on May 11. For those of us that enjoyed O.C. during its early 2000s run, and those who have now graduated to Gossip Girl, the thought of the two shows combining into one uber-snob fest might make our heads explode.
Schwartz and co-creator Stephanie Savage have discussed the idea that Lily should cross paths with The O.C.’s Kirsten Nichol (Seth’s Mom) and Jimmy Cooper (Marissa’s dad). Mind-boggling pop culture news.
