KAREN IS FOLLOWING ME ON TWITTER

Amanda Seyfried plays Karen in Mean Girls, and I have been basically begging her to follow me on Twitter - but she’s only following 15 people and they’re all famous. I’m not famous … BUT I do have a website dedicated to her movie and she’s in my logo. Good enough reason, yes?
Today, Friday, July 17, Amanda (@amandaseyfried) has decided to follow me on Twitter. I’m still waiting on Lindsay Lohan’s follow, and I am pretty sure Lacey Chabert and Rachel McAdams aren’t on Twitter. Which is unfortunate.
Follow me @thatssofetch.

KIM KARDASHIAN IS UNREAL

YOUR DAILY LINKS
Kim Kardashian and some pictures. That’s all you need to know.
I can’t imagine a scenario where I would want to shoot beer into a friend’s mouth, but just in case that situation arises, I can always purchase the Beer Blaster.
I was born in 1985, which is code for I spent my entire childhood in front of the television watching shows like Salute Your Shorts and The Adventures of Pete & Pete. You should check out The Top 10 Awesome Old School Nickelodeon Theme Songs.
If she’s not the NCAA’s Hottest Junior Student-Athlete, I don’t know who is.

I SAW BRUNO

Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen was first known for Da Ali G Show which hit airwaves in 2000 on HBO. A show made famous from pranking politicians and conducting fake interviews, unbeknownst to his interviewees. It was on this show that he popularized the two foreign characters we have come to know and love, Borat and Bruno.
While Borat worked as both a skit on a television show and in a feature film, Bruno walks a thin line between an
hour-long mini-series and a full-length movie. While Borat seemed 100% real seemingly the entire duration of the film, Bruno (and I can’t believe I’m saying this) actually jumped the shark.
It started off on a great note and was very reminiscent of his brilliant skits on Ali G. The expectation of full-frontal male nudity and rolling on the floor hilarity was rampant through the first 45 minutes of the movie. While having the respect for his style of comedy, I still found myself somewhat bored and skeptic during the second half of the film.
The genius of the characters of Borat and Bruno relies almost entirely on Baron Cohen’s ability to make both the people around him and the audience uncomfortable in a realistic setting. Bruno did not accomplish this for its entire 81 minute run time.
Bruno is such an outrageous character and so over-the-top that it’s extremely hard to imagine that someone like Sacha Baron Cohen could jump the shark - but it happened. I found myself wondering what was real and what was fake, and it’s that flaw that took something away from the movie.
I laughed my ass off 75% of the time, which is much more than your average movie-going experience. It’s wildly funny, but comedically isn’t on par with Borat - which may be a letdown for some. This movie is definitely a must-see, but I would be hard-pressed to call it “must see now“.
Save your $12 and wait for the DVD. 7.5/10
Watch this clip if you’ve ever wanted to hear Barbara Walters talk about floppy penises (I mean that might be the type of thing that turns you on, she gets me hot). Here’s her thoughts on Bruno from The View:

YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT GLEE

On the hunt for a new TV show to get addicted to, I stumbled upon Glee, the newest comedy from Fox centered around a high school musical choir. Unlike the played out Disney High School Musical series, Glee is actually entertaining with great music and an adult sense of humor. Although appealing to and most likely aimed at high school students, it’s a show that adults can thoroughly enjoy as well.
The pilot is availablefor free on Hulu, and is an enjoyable way to spend 43 minutes of your free time. It’s witty and inspired - a John Hughes movie meets Mean Girls kind of vibe. Think Cady Herron and Regina George in a show choir. The music is fun and it’s a great deviation from shitty reality shows and unscripted content the major networks are spewing out these days.

Glee premieres September 16 on Fox, but you can catch the pilot on Hulu:
TSF THOUGHTS OF THE DAY
I’ve never really done a “Thoughts of the Day” post per say, but I wanted to talk about a few things that I have been discussing on my Twitter today. I will most likely start doing “Thoughts of the Day” on a regular basis, but join the discussion on Twitter before it makes it to the site.
EMMA WATSON IS HOT?

Emma Watson is the 19-year-old actress known for her role as Hermione in the Harry Potter series of films. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t give two shits about Harry Potter or any of those long-ass books, but since this chick just turned nineteen, I don’t feel too bad about not realizing her hotness sooner. She’s aging extremely well, and TSF will be actively monitoring her hotness for future posts. Maybe it’s the accent?

Video evidence:
ED HARDY SHIRTS ARE ATROCIOUS

Look at that disgusting shirt. We’ve all seen them, and now Jon Gosselin (of Jon & Kate Plus 8) wears them on a daily basis and is actually hanging out with Ed Hardy clothing designer Christian Audigier. These shirts and every piece of clothing in this line is absolutely hideous, and I want to add it to my Top 10 Chick Repellents list. Ever thought about buying one of these shirts? Don’t. It’s my job to tell you when something is fugly, and you’d look like an assclown with one on. Trust me.
Jon Gosselin (right) is rumored to be designing a line of children’s clothing for Audigier. Because the estranged adulterer father of 8 children with no background in clothing design is the best option line launch. The tone of my writing doesn’t translate through the internet, but I am being facetious.

MARISA MILLER’S BIRTHDAY SUIT IN GQ

YOUR DAILY LINKS
Model Marisa Miller did a spread for GQ and the full picture is too racy just to plaster on the front page of a family-friendly website. That’s just something I don’t do. It’s the kind of picture you print off and cry yourself asleep to on a nightly basis. Click here to see the full-sized image.
If you’ve ever wanted to see Lady GaGa’s ass, here’s your chance - or if you if you’ve ever wondered what girls think about Lady Gaga vs. Katy Perry, here’s some thoughts.
I am linking to this mainly so I could say this: ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews took balls to the chin, a baseball that is.
Scarlett Johansson in provocative clothing for an ad campaign. Nothing to get excited about, but something to look at none-the-less.
The best commercial of the year, and it’s not even close:

NEW SONGS FOR YOUR iPOD (07.14.09)
LUPE FIASCO
“SHINING DOWN”
“Shining Down” is the latest track from Chicago-based rapper Lupe Fiasco. A song that further solidifies him as one of the best rappers in the game right now. Get it and add it to your summer mix and play it for your friends. They’ll think you’re cool. I promise.

THE AVETT BROTHERS
“I AND LOVE AND YOU”
The Avett Brothers are the best folk band of the 21st century and it’s a shame that you aren’t listening to them. Saying that you are missing out would be an understatement. “I and Love and You” is from their July 7th EP release of the same name. I could only find a live version for this post, but do yourself a favor and download the studio version. If you enjoy folk music at all, this song should be on your iPod.
A more polished sound doesn’t distract from the raw talent of this North Carolina-based trio. This is definitely one of the better songs they’ve recorded. Discover more about The Avett Brothers on TSF here.
